  The cars are good, but other rental companies don't charge a deposit (meant to be a hold on a credit card, but in reality I have had deducted twice) so I tend to avoid Europcar unless there is a significant cost saving.

  Europcar is a SCAM !!!!!!
  Don’t go there they will steal money from you !!!!
  We rented a car about a month ago and now received an invoice asking us to pay around 250$ for a break in the windshield that was already there before !!!!!!! We notice it quickly as it was an obvious break in front of the driver but we thought that logicaly they knew about it. What is our surprise now to see this money withdraw from our bank account : UNBELIEVABLE and SCANDALOUS !!!!!!

  Never use Europcar. Very very bad experience with Europcar. Used a rental car for 3 days,but they charged me 4days. Picked up the car from Darwin Airport and supposed to return it to City branch before 12pm since they are closed 12pm during weekends. So picked up on Friday 12.30am, a girl from the airport instructed me to return it anytime before midnight even if the city branch closed at 12pm. Followed all the instruction what I heard from her. But in the end, they charged me an extra day since I returned it after the branch closed. I’m not gonna use Europcar ever in my life.

  we hired different cars during our stay in Darwin from Europcar. The first vehicle was fine, but much to our surprise it was down hill from there. firstly we did bring to their attention that the cars were dirty inside and that we had to pull over to a service station and wash the inside front screen. Secondly, on hiring another 3 different vehicles from them on different days we also brought to the attention damage & scratches on a particular vehicle and was told by the Irish lady serving us that they were aware of the damage -" no worries- no problem ÏTS OK"!!!. At no time was any paper work filled out or given to us indicating the condition of the cars on hiring. WHAT A MISTAKE !! after a few days after leaving Darwin and moving on to our next destination we were informed by europcar that there was damage to the last vehicle ( dropped off at 6.00am Darwin airport) and we were liable for $550.00 costs. we have emailed twice requesting photographs of the alleged damage with no reply. They have now deducted $605.00 incl gst from our credit card ! Not happy ! We would like proof of the damage and intend on fighting this claim. So needless to say we will not use EUROPCAR again or recommend to anyone.
